KAD Mini Rear disc conversion (1012070) This
has been developed to fill the need for a lightweight rear disc brake
conversion with an effective mechanical handbrake to replace the standard
drum brakes at the rear. The rationale was never to increase braking
effort at the rear of the car but to reduce weight. Even with alloy
wheel hubs and alloy wheel cylinders, drum brakes cannot be reduced
below 4.6kgs on a cost effective basis due to the weight of steel in
items such as the brake shoes, mechanism and backplates. |
